After clicking Generate Data, you'll be asked to confirm, and then the generation process begins.
Confirmation Dialog
A confirmation dialog appears showing:
• The total number of records to be generated
• The target Dataverse environment name
• A breakdown by entity type (e.g., Accounts: 50 records, Contacts: 150 records)
• Whether custom plugins and workflows will be bypassed
⚠ Important: Records created by this tool cannot be automatically removed. Be certain you want to create these records in the selected environment before clicking Yes.
No: Returns to the configuration page without creating any records
Yes: Begins the data generation process
Progress Page
After confirming, the "Creating Dummy Data" progress page displays:
Header:
• Elapsed time and overall completion percentage
• Status message (e.g., "Initializing high-performance bulk data creation...")
Summary Statistics:
Total Records: X/Y showing completed vs. total records
Completed: Number of entities finished
In Progress: Number of entities currently being processed
Errors: Number of failed operations
Records/Sec: Current generation speed
Entity Progress Table
Below the statistics, a detailed table shows progress for each entity:
Entity: The entity name and logical name (e.g., "Accounts / account")
Progress: Completion percentage for this entity
Records: X / Y showing completed vs. target count
Time: Elapsed time for this entity
Status: Current status — Pending, In Progress, Complete, or Error
Available Actions
Export Report: Save a report of the generation results
Cancel: Stop the generation process (records already created will remain)
Finish: Return to the landing page when generation is complete
