Follow these steps to properly uninstall DvSchemaSync from your system. Important: Delete your saved connections before uninstalling to ensure credentials are removed from Windows Credential Manager.
Before You Uninstall
⚠ Important: DvSchemaSync stores connection credentials in Windows Credential Manager. These credentials are not automatically removed when you uninstall the application. Delete all connections within DvSchemaSync before uninstalling.
Step 1: Delete Saved Connections
Remove all saved connections from within the application:
1. Launch DvSchemaSync.
2. Click Manage → to open Connection Management.
3. For each saved connection (both Dataverse and SQL):
a. Select the connection
b. Click Delete
c. Confirm the deletion
4. Verify all connections have been removed from the list.
✓ When you delete a connection in DvSchemaSync, the associated credentials are automatically removed from Windows Credential Manager.
Step 2: Uninstall the Application
After deleting all connections, uninstall DvSchemaSync:
1. Open Windows Settings (Win + I).
2. Navigate to Apps > Installed apps.
3. Search for "DvSchemaSync".
4. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to DvSchemaSync.
5. Select Uninstall.
6. Follow the uninstall wizard prompts to complete removal.
Removing Orphaned Credentials (If Needed)
If you uninstalled DvSchemaSync without first deleting your connections, credentials will remain in Windows Credential Manager. To remove them manually:
1. Press Win + S and search for "Credential Manager".
2. Open Credential Manager.
3. Select Windows Credentials.
4. Scroll through the list and look for entries starting with "DvSchemaSync:".
5. For each DvSchemaSync entry:
a. Click the entry to expand it
b. Click Remove
c. Click Yes to confirm
6. Repeat for all DvSchemaSync entries.
What Gets Removed
The following items are removed during uninstallation:
• Application files in the installation directory
• Start menu shortcuts
• Desktop shortcut (if created during installation)
• Windows registry entries
The following items are NOT automatically removed:
• Credentials stored in Windows Credential Manager (delete connections first)
• Log files in %AppData%\DvSchemaSync\Logs
• User preferences in %AppData%\DvSchemaSync
To completely remove all traces: Delete the %AppData%\DvSchemaSync folder after uninstalling.
